Cameroon GCE 2009 Results

*This post has been edited. Scroll to the bottom to see the results of the individual candidates per centre*

So the GCE results for this year are out!
Was there an improvement in the number of successful candidates compared to last year?
In terms of quality, did this year see an increase in the number of A grades? or rather a decrease?
Which regions performed best, which schools had the highest pass percentage, which schools recorded the best results, the overall national pass percentage compared to last year?

GCE O' Levels

26, 559 students have passed the 2009 GCE Ordinary Level examinations. This amounts to 53.89% of the 47, 630 students, who sat for the examination this year. This is a vast improvement from last year's 48.61% overall pass percentage.

Seven students had 11 As (respect!) from the following schools:

FBC Nkongsamba - Fultang Blaesius Norman
Sacred Heart College Mankon (as usual :)) - Michael Fonyam Mbah Ngwanah
SAMS Kitiwum - Ntangri Albert Assamau
SWC Fontem - Awungayi Desmond
GSS Bafia, Muyuka - Ategha Jespa, Ategha Kangkwalah (Hmm, are they siblings??)
Our Lady of Lourdes College Mankon (Yay, my alma mater! ) - Nkengfack Brunhilda

*edited*
Eight Thirteen schools scored a 100%

Bishop Rogan College Soppo
Our Lady of Lourdes College Mankon (yay!!)
Sacred Heart College Mankon
Saint Bede's College Ashing Kom
Saker Baptist College Limbe
Seat of Wisdom College Fontem
Sacred Heart College Douala
Horizon Bilingual Educational Complex Douala
Saint Joseph's Catholic Comprehensive College Mbengwi
Fonkeng Private College Ndog-Bong
Premiere International College Garoua
Chou Bilingual Comprehensive College, Carriere Yaounde
College l'Etoile Logpom Douala

Hmm, so many new private schools I don't know about, and scoring a 100% at that. Seems like its now school boom in pays. Every Tom Dick and Harry (excuse my Chinese) can/has opened a school. Its all good though. IMO, there can never be enough schools. So carry go.

The following subjects recorded the highest number of A grades:
History, Economics, Geography, Literature in English, French, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, in that order. (Hmm, Maths in last position, no surprise there :))

GCE A' Levels

Meanwhile, at the Advanced Level, the percentage of successful candidates was even higher; 69.53%, a whopping 11.74% higher than last year's 57.79% pass percentage. In numbers, 20, 310 candidates made it this year.

Seven schools recorded a score of 100%

Bishop Rogan College Soppo
Sacred Heart College Mankon
St. Bedes College Ashing-Kom
Saker Baptist College Limbe
PSS Bafut
Sacred Heart College Douala
Seat of Wisdom College Fontem
